Abandoned (Backstage)
These images were taken in an abandoned building at Dundas Street West and Sterling Road previously occupied by Vespa Toronto and Jack’s Rental. The building burned down in late December, 2020.
The images shown here are of the building tagged and destroyed from the inside; the marks of street artists collide with left furniture, curses and poetry. The artist takes dozens of images, collages them digitally and prints them before turning his hand to them with marks of his own - acrylic paint, spray paint and coloured pencil. The title, Abandoned (Backstage), hints at something not meant to be seen from those screaming to be heard.
